New Book Release and that ‘Thing’

My book baby, Bottoms Up, Boracay (Season 1 Habagat) is finally out🤸‍♀️ So excited to share this new release with you, guys! It took quite awhile, but it’s now complete, pressed, and polished. Hope you ❤️ it.

On that note…

Have you ever had a Thing that’s been sleeping on your to-do list for ages? Not just for a week, months, or even a year, but probably, say, over a decade?

Perhaps it’s one of those grand items on your bucket list, or “Things You Want To Do Before XX.” Oh, remember how you were so certain you would do it before you turned xx years old? You had the resources, the energy, and the optimism. But somehow, you never got around to it. Your xxth birthday came and went years ago, and you thought:

It’s long past deadline.

Life happens.

This Thing is never gonna happen.

But then, this Thing, to your amazement, just refuses to die. Every few years or so, it visits to tickle your conscience. It reminds you that your life is not complete because you haven’t done it yet. It shapeshifts into a person from your past and says, “Hey, you remember me?”

But after all this time, you resist. You ignore it; wait for it to get tired of screaming for you to do it. You’re busy with work. You’ve got bills to pay. Your energy is sapped from building your business, trying to keep up with all your social networks, or just dealing with people and life in general.

You dodge it, hide from it, and argue your case against it. You wait for this Thing to get tired of you and disappear.

But (drum roll please), it never does.

So you finally get it. This Thing is stronger and more stubborn than you are. It wants to be born into this world, and you’ll never be at peace until you help it come to be.

So you do it. At first, just to shut it up. But then, by and by, as you labor and remember why you wanted this Thing in the first place all those years ago, you realize it’s meant to happen after all. You were destined to do it.

This book is exactly that Thing for me. It took me 15 years to finally sit down, complete it, and send it out to the world. This story just refused to die in my head and in my soul. Yep, that’s 15 years, baby.

And I can’t begin to tell you how incredibly light and happy I am right now that it’s finally done! Checked off my list. Done! It’s such a wonderful word, isn’t it?

But also, not Done exactly, because we still have so much work and a long way to go in introducing and finding its place in this world.

But still, Done in the sense that it’s finally out now. This story is not just mine anymore. It’s yours, and everybody else’s too.
